　　在這首歌里，講述的是這樣一個(gè)故事：有一棵奉獻(xiàn)樹，深愛著一個(gè)小男孩。男孩天天在枝椏間嬉戲、在樹蔭下休憩，慢慢的長大了。有一天，他向樹要錢，說是想買一些他喜歡的東西。樹沒有錢，只有枝葉和蘋果。于是樹讓他把蘋果摘了，到街上去賣錢。男孩照著樹的話去做，看到男孩滿意的樣子，樹很高興。

　　不久，男孩又來了，說他現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)是個(gè)成人了，得要有間自己的房子。于是樹讓他把枝椏砍去，自己搭間房子。后來，男孩向樹說他厭倦了故鄉(xiāng)，想要到遠(yuǎn)方尋找陽光燦爛的日子，樹于是又把主干給了他，讓他自己造條小船出海去追尋夢想。看著男孩去滿懷壯志地去尋找新的人生，樹很高興。

　　幾年之后，男孩倦游歸來，又來到樹的身邊。樹看看自己僅存的樹墩，十分抱歉地對男孩說：“如今我只剩下一個(gè)老樹墩，實(shí)在沒有東西可給你了”。男孩虛弱的笑笑，對樹說，現(xiàn)在我需要的也不多了，只想有個(gè)安靜的地方，好好休息一下。樹說，既然是這樣，那么我這老樹墩還是挺管用的，“來吧，坐下來，好好的休息一會(huì)兒”。男孩聽話的坐下，于是樹還是好高興。

　　父母就如這顆奉獻(xiàn)樹。小時(shí)候，我們在父母身邊快樂的玩耍……長大后，我們離開他們，去尋找自己的夢想，只有在需要什么東西或者遇到麻煩的時(shí)候，才回到他們身邊尋求幫助。但無論何時(shí)，父母永遠(yuǎn)都在那兒，靜靜的陪伴和等待，傾其所有使你快樂。這個(gè)男孩對樹很殘酷，但這也是我們每個(gè)人對待父母的方式…………
